The Origin

The idea and concept of The BRIG Company has been in secret incubation for

2-3 years (since 2022). While conducting individual counseling sessions, I started feeling as if there was something missing. As though I wasn’t doing all that I could to assist my clients when they would talk about the things they needed. Honestly, I started to doubt my own counseling abilities. But then came a second wind and I eventually remembered why I became a counselor.

Not to sit at a desk! Not to settle for a 9-to-5 routine schedule!

And most definitely not to become someone who re-teaches the textbook!!!!

My mission.... Our mission is to teach practical application for achieving higher level functioning that has been validated by life experiences.

Counseling works! Therapy can be effective tool! And guess what? It’s not new technique, but a very old one that the systems of this world have been utilizing for a very long time. Yes, we’ve all been brainwashed in some area or another

In May of this year, the non-profit called The Brokers of Resources For the Improvement of Generations Company, aka The BRIG Co. emerged. We will do our best in teaching and demonstration of how mental health, emotional well-being, and spirituality are all interconnected for achieving holistic (mind, body, and soul) wellness. Most people see the MS Delta as deficient, but I see so much opportunity.

In order to see the many possibilities we have, we must learn how to reframe our thoughts and behaviors so that we will not only reach our life goals

but be able to responsibly maintain them.

We serve individuals and families that reside within the landscape classified as the Mississippi Delta Region - a total of 18 counties.

The organization’s aim is to improve the trusted delivery and pursuit of equitable care in the areas of mental health and illicit substance use.

We will be a BRIG that connect people to needed resources. Our approach is to be proactive, not reactive, in responding to both the mental and emotional health issues.

This organization believes that with accurate support and empowerment individuals, families, organizations, and communities will achieve a better quality of life in spite of mental and emotional illnesses.
